The British 8th Army, formed in 1941 from the Western Desert Force, was a diverse force made up of men from the British Commonwealth - British, New Zealanders, Australians, Indians, and South Africans. After early victories against the Italians in North Africa, the 8th Army found themselves facing a new and more dangerous enemy - the Deutsches Afrika Korps led by the charismatic Erwin Rommel. This marked the beginning of a series of operations where both Allied and Axis forces were pushed back and forth, with battles at El Alamein, Tobruk, and Beda Fomm becoming legendary.

Following their triumph in North Africa, the fighting expanded to Tunisia and eventually reached the heart of Italy. The set includes 2 Universal Carriers with metal crewmen and 12 plastic 8th Army infantry, as well as a stat card, decals, damage markers, and a construction leaflet.

The Universal Carrier, also known as the Bren Carrier, was a versatile tracked carrier used for transporting weapons and personnel. It was widely used by both sides during the war, including several variations such as the Loyd carriers and the Carden-Loyd Tankette tow. The 8th Army infantry, known as the 'Desert Rats' due to their struggles with harsh desert conditions and fierce battles against the Axis forces, fought bravely in the harsh environment of North Africa.

The scale of the models is 28mm - 1/56th, and they come unpainted and unassembled. Glue and paints are not included in the set, which features 2 plastic vehicles.
